Shocking Laws okay in Japan, but illegal around the world. So I’ve made videos before on things you can’t do in Japan because of laws or unknown laws that could get you arrested, but in this video I wanted to switch things up a little and share with you some things that are legal in Japan but may be illegal in other parts of the world. Many think that Japan is a very strict country, but when you hear some of these Japanese laws you may be scratching your head. And to be clear from the start, I don’t recommend doing any of these things. I’m not providing legal advice and this is for entertainment only.

“Japanese food is healthy, and that’s why Japanese people look so young and live long!”
This might be something that you have believed in until you played this video. Japanese food called “和食 washoku” in Japanese, was registered as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2013, and has been gaining a lot of attention and popularity ever since as a way to maintain a healthy body and to keep you in shape.
...But what if I told you that washoku is actually NOT healthy?
I was very shocked too after reading these two books written by a Japanese doctor, who states that the assumption of “washoku = healthy” is a very dangerous myth.
So today, I will first explain about the definition of washoku and how it was added to the UNESCO Intangible Heritage List. Then, I will introduce the 3 main reasons why there are some people who claim that Japanese food is not healthy.
The 3 reasons will get more and more surprising towards the end and in the final chapter I will introduce some ideas on ways to find healthy food in Japan, so stay tuned!
I hope this video will be useful not only for those who are hoping to travel to Japan, but especially to students and workers who are planning on staying in Japan for a longer period of time.
However I know that these “health theories” often change from time to time, and there are many people who say things that are completely opposed to each other. I don't believe that this is the absolute truth, so please understand that I’m just trying to share an interesting idea with you.

If you′re traveling to Japan anytime soon,... you may want to hold off from eating that next Big Mac.
McDonald′s restaurants there have been facing a series of food safety scandals this past year.
Paul, the most recent one I understand included a piece of plastic found in some food.
That′s right, a four-centimeter strip of vinyl was found in a Chicken McNugget over the weekend.
And back in August,... a human tooth was discovered in some french fries.
The company′s top brass in Japan appeared before the public on Wednesday... to apologize for the incidents and ensure revamped food safety policies moving forward.
"We are getting employees to wear masks and conduct proper checks. By doing that, we are looking to make sure that things that shouldn′t happen, don′t."
McDonald′s has been dealing with other problems such as potato shortages and falling sales across Japan.
It′s all causing investors, as well as consumers, to lose faith in the golden arches.

식약처, 일본산 7개 품목 수입식품 안전검사 2배 강화
Seoul's government laid out plans to strengthen inspections on food imports from Japan.
This is in response to growing concerns over radioactive contamination from the 2011 Fukushima nuclear disaster.
Kim Jae-hee updates us on the new measures
The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety says, starting Friday, it will double the number of inspections of food imports from Japan that have a record of being sent back due to radioactive contamination.
"Due to growing consumer anxiety over radioactive contamination, the ministry will analyze inspections from the past five years.... and double the number of inspections of food items that have been sent back because of radioactive contamination during that period."
A total of 17 items will be checked, including ten processed foods such as tea and chocolate.
Also on the list are three agricultural products, like blueberries, plus food additives and health supplements.
Until now, such inspections were conducted on just a one-kilogram sample from each product based on its manufacturing date.
But now the ministry will take two samples and test them both twice.
South Korea has banned imports of all fishery products from 8 prefectures of Japan and 27 agricultural products from 14 prefectures that have had higher levels of radiation since the Fukushima meltdown.
All other food from Japan has been subject to thorough radiation checks.
When any of those items have had traces of radiation, Korea has requested additional inspection reports, but because Japan has never sent any, all such items have been sent back.

This free flight on Japan Airlines in 1975 heading to Paris, would end up being the passengers' worst nightmare.
The flight attendants were ready to serve breakfast, reheating a stack of ham omelettes to begin their meal service. The passengers woke up, hungry after several hours of flying, and excited to eat a freshly prepared breakfast.
Little did they know, these eggs would take down the entire plane.
Let’s get into it!
